Here’s the official synopsis from Disney+: “Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Superhero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit. ” To be clear, although Hawkeye scans as a father-daughter adventure, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) is not Clint’s daughter. Hawkeye still has a real family, who all were restored by Tony Stark after the reverse-snap in Endgame. So, while Hawkeye seems to be about Clint trying to hang out with his family, it looks like he’s going to get a pseudo-surrogate daughter in the process. What’s the biggest possible wrinkle here? Well, in case you missed it, the post-credits scene of Black Widow revealed that Natasha’s sister, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) has been recruited by Contessa Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) to track down Hawkeye. Neither Yelena nor Val appears in the new trailer, but that doesn’t mean the new show won’t have a ton of other Marvel cameos. Yippee-ki-yay, Hawkeye family! Hawkeye debuts on Disney+ on November 24, 2021. Like Loki, it will run for six episodes.
